The D-backs avoided arbitration with right-hander Randall Delgado on Monday by reaching an agreement on a one-year deal. Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Delgado, 27, posted a 3.59 ERA through 26 games (five starts) with Arizona in 2017. He was shut down on July 16 with elbow inflammation that was later diagnosed as a flexor strain. He underwent platelet-rich plasma injections in September, and a follow-up MRI in November showed improvement.
Delgado has spent the last five seasons pitching for the D-backs, who acquired him in a trade with the Braves in January 2013.
