Geraldo Perdomo gets the start at shortstop, with Josh Rojas moving over to second. Perdomo’s major-league career got off to an inauspicious start last night, coming off the bench in the ninth. He struck out without taking the bat off his shoulder. Given I was touting his plate discipline (more walks than K’s in the minors), that was a little disappointing. We’ll see what he does as a starter. Taylor Widener also makes his first MLB start, having won the job as Zac Gallen’s replacement in spring. Though if he pitches well, he might end up with a permanent job.
