After starting the year in the big-league rotation, right-hander Archie Bradley couldn’t have expected to finish it on the backfields of the Diamondbacks’ spring-training complex, facing lineups of mostly low-level prospects in instructional league.
“It’s a little humbling,” Bradley said.
Bradley’s year was tumultuous in almost every sense. He experienced success and failure at the highest level. He was struck in the face by a line drive. He dealt with shoulder problems that led to a visit to Dr. James Andrews.
He was repeatedly knocked down – literally and otherwise – and is ready to get back up.
