D-Backs' Peralta to have sore wrist examined

DENVER – Diamondbacks right fielder David Peralta was out of the lineup again on Tuesday night, and he said he’s planning to have his slow-to-heal right wrist examined by hand specialist Dr. Don Sheridan on Thursday after the club returns home.

Peralta was twice hit by pitches on his right forearm last month in San Francisco, and he said the discomfort he’s felt has gradually worked its way into his wrist. He said he recently began changing his swing mechanics to compensate for the lack of strength in his wrist.

“I really want to help the team to do something,” Peralta said.
