The D-backs announced Monday that they have parted ways with general manager Dave Stewart and manager Chip Hale.
Hale spent two seasons as Arizona's manager, going 148-176. The D-backs finished the 2016 season in fourth place in the National League West, with a record of 69-93.
Stewart was hired as general manager at the end of the 2014 season, succeeding Kevin Towers.
"We are very grateful to Dave and Chip, who are widely respected throughout the game of baseball," said managing general partner Ken Kendrick. "Ultimately, the results have not been what we had hoped and while that responsibility is shared by all of us, we have decided that a change is necessary.
