PHOENIX -- The D-backs announced on Friday that the club will name its annual 34th-round Draft pick the "Cory Hahn 34th pick," beginning with this year's Draft next week.
Hahn, who works in the D-backs' scouting department, suffered a fracture in his C-5 vertebrae after playing just three games as a freshman with Arizona State University in 2011. Before hiring him, the D-backs selected Hahn with their 34th-round selection in '13.
Hahn wore No. 34 while playing for the Sun Devils.
"When we drafted Cory two years ago, we did so with the intention of him being a part of this organization for many years to come," D-backs president & CEO Derrick Hall said in a press release.
