D-Backs' Miller holds his own in left field

Just when it seemed Shelby Miller’s month couldn’t have been any more eventful, the Diamondbacks No. 2 starter found himself playing left field and taking an at-bat with the game on the line on Sunday afternoon at Chase Field.

With the Diamondbacks out of position players, manager Chip Hale was forced to send Miller out to left field in the top of the 13th after shortstop Nick Ahmed was ejected from the game.

And Miller didn’t look bad out there. He was tested almost immediately, when the second batter of the inning, Sean Rodriguez, laced a double off the wall.
