D-Backs hopeful Bradley won't be out long

Diamondbacks rookie Archie Bradley faced cameras Wednesday for the first time since he took a 115 mph line drive to the face the night before, the swelling in the right side of his cheek having subsided only slightly. Looking like he was working on the biggest wad of chew ever, he explained his eagerness to get back on the mound.

He could pitch today if it were a playoff game, he said. That might be slightly aspirational thinking, but it also might not be too far off. The Diamondbacks placed Bradley on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday with a small sinus fracture, but expect the 22-year-old back in action when he's eligible to return.
