NEW YORK -- The D-backs hoped that the return of Jake Lamb to the lineup would jump-start their offense. It did not.
Runs were still difficult to come by Friday night, as Mets starter Jacob deGrom struck out 13 over seven innings in the D-backs' 3-1 loss at Citi Field. The loss was the eighth in the last nine games for the D-backs, who have scored more than two runs just twice over that stretch.
Lamb was activated from the disabled list, where he had been since April 2 before the game, and did deliver Arizona's lone run of the game with a one-out double to right that scored Steven Souza Jr.
