PHOENIX -- Matt Adams' single scored Trea Turner with what proved to be the winning run as the Nationals beat the D-backs, 2-1, in 11 innings on Thursday night at Chase Field.
Turner started the winning rally with a single to lead off the inning against Fernando Salas. Turner moved to second when Anthony Rendon walked.
D-backs manager Torey Lovullo then brought in Andrew Chafin, who allowed Adams' single to left.
Runs were at a premium all night thanks to outstanding outings by starters Zack Greinke and Tanner Roark.
