D-backs cut down by hot-hitting Astros

The Astros lead for the final Wild Card spot in the American League and can still tie the Rangers in the AL West. They lead the Angels by one game and the Twins by two games, and trail the Rangers by two games with two remaining. Houston would clinch a postseason berth with a win and an Angels loss on Saturday.

Keuchel (20-8) became the Astros' first 20-game winner since Roy Oswalt went 20-12 in 2005 by holding the D-backs to six hits and two runs in six innings.

The Astros jumped on D-backs starter Rubby De La Rosa (14-9) for three runs in the first -- including a two-run, bases-loaded single by Chris Carter -- and they didn't let up, plating six runs on six hits in three innings off the righty.
