D-Backs' Collmenter ‘frustrated’ by spring outings

It might just be spring training, but Diamondbacks right-hander Josh Collmenter isn’t pleased with the way his outings have gone thus far in Cactus League play.

“I’m definitely a little frustrated,” Collmenter said.

He gave up four runs in his inning of work on Wednesday night, giving him nine earned runs allowed in eight innings. He’s given up four home runs.

“Command has kind of been my bread and butter and that’s what lends me to have success,” Collmenter said. “I haven’t been able to consistently command the fastball – my offspeed stuff has been OK – but I’ve put myself in counts where I have to throw more fastballs and when they’re not going where you want them to, you get yourself in trouble.
