The Diamondbacks are approaching what has become a familiar crossroads: With questionable personnel moves in the recent past and their major league team stuck in last place, the club is mulling the possibility of yet another front-office overhaul.
But those changes will not extend to the CEO’s office.
The Diamondbacks are close to finalizing a new contract for Derrick Hall, a deal that is expected to last eight years, the same length as his previous agreement. That would put Hall, the club’s president and CEO, under contract through 2024.
“This has been home,” Hall said. “This is where I’ve wanted to be and still want to be.
