PHOENIX -- The D-backs have acquired right-handed pitcher Sam McWilliams from the Phillies for right-handed pitcher Jeremy Hellickson, as announced by D-backs Sr. Vice President & General Manager Dave Stewart.
"Sam follows along the lines of what we've been doing for the last year, acquiring young power arms," said Stewart. "He's a high school draft pick that put up good numbers in the Gulf Coast League. He'll be a great addition to our organization."
McWilliams, 20, was rated by MLB.com as the 28th-best prospect in the Phillies' organization after making 7 starts in 2015 with the Rookie GCL Phillies, going 0-2 with a 3.
