With the news of the Diamondbacks’ plan to place a humidor at Chase, the offense decided to take advantage while the balls still had some pop left in them. The team combined for 11 hits and 9 runs, with most coming off Jeff Samardzija in the 6th inning.
The teams started slow, with Robbie Ray and Samardzija cruising to start things off. Our old pal Aaron Hill changed that, launching a familiar home run to left field to give the Giants a quick 1-0 lead. Ray responded with another two quick outs to end the inning.
