After a blowout turned into a nailbiter last night, it behooved the D-Backs to race out to an early lead and hope the bullpen had worked out the kinks in the previous night. They were able to accomplish the first part of that formula, but the second part still requires some work. It points to a worrying trend that will need to be resolved before the increasingly likely postseason run: who will be the closer moving forward and how does Torey Lovullo handle the bullpen in general? For now though, the team needs to focus on maximizing their victories and solidifying their playoff position as much as possible.
