After last night’s entertaining but demoralizing loss to the Dodgers, you would be forgiven for asking yourself, “Who?” as Christian Mena was introduced as tonight’s starter for his major league debut. You’d be equally forgiven for wanting to angrily change the channel after Mena allowed four Los Angeles’ runs without securing an out and five straight hits before earning his first major league out. However, the D-Backs’ pitching staff and defense absolutely went to another gear to limit the powerful Dodger offense to a single hit over the next eight innings of work to give the offense a chance to respond.
