Throughout the broadcast, the team was celebrating Corbin Carroll on his 24th(!) birthday and with good reason. He not only represents the team’s present, but also its future as he’s signed through the incomprehensible 2032. It’s easy to forget, but at just 24, Carroll is still the second-youngest player on the 26-man roster with only Justin Martinez beating him out. He likely won’t be able to match his incredible rookie campaign that saw him capture a unanimous Rookie of the Year, but he’s also managed to demonstrate an admirable maturity to block out the external noise and rebound from the depths of his April performance.
