In the Diamondbacks Saturday night win over the Giants, 1B Christian Walker was thrown out by the home plate umpire in one of the most bizarre fashions.
At the time, it was a 4-4 ballgame in the bottom of the sixth inning. Nick Ahmed was up to the plate, where he squared around to bunt before pulling back. As usual, the home plate umpire pointed over to the first base umpire, where it was ruled that Ahmed did pull back in time.
In response, nonchalantly, Diamondbacks’ Christian Walker clapped a couple of times from the dugout in support of the fact that the count was now 3-1.
