Former Arizona Cardinals special teams star Ron Wolfley said the worst pain he ever felt during his 10-year playing career was when he had a case of plantar fasciitis.
Diamondbacks center fielder Chris Owings can empathize. He’s dealing with a case of plantar fasciitis in both heels, a condition that kept him out of the lineup for the second straight game Tuesday and could land him on the disabled list.
“It’s not fun to deal with,” Owings said. “It can be a nasty injury.”
For now, the Diamondbacks are saying Owings is day-to-day. But manager Chip Hale compared Owings’ situation to that of right fielder David Peralta, who nursed a wrist injury for several days before the team finally placed him on the disabled list.
