SAN FRANCISCO – During his playing career, Diamondbacks manager Chip Hale once found himself glued to the bench while teammate Scott Erickson tossed a no-hitter for the Minnesota Twins. Now a manager who will take the same route to the park in hopes of continuing a win streak was then a player who wouldn't risk upsetting the baseball gods during a no-no.
"I sat in a chair the whole game," Hale recalled. "I couldn't even walk when it was over. And I had to go to the bathroom."
Hale noticed some of the same behavior in his players Friday night.
