SEATTLE -- In the last week, D-backs catcher Welington Castillo has dealt with a nagging hamstring and has twice been drilled hard in the left elbow, taking him out of the lineup for two of Arizona's last three games.
Still, he considers himself lucky.
The 28-year-old backstop was not in the lineup for Tuesday night's game against the Mariners a day after he was hit by a 94-mph fastball from Mariners closer Carson Smith in the 10th inning of the D-backs' 4-3 win over Seattle on Monday night.
Castillo, who homered in his first at-bat on Monday, was wearing an elbow guard after being hit in the same spot on Saturday, but he was unable to bend his left arm and was lifted for Jarrod Saltalamacchia, who caught the bottom of the 10th.
