It wasn't a break-in, but it was a big break for the 24-year-old right-hander.
"He came into my room, and he was like, 'Hey, you can't have a messy room when you go to the big leagues,'" Burgos said. "I thought he was joking."
It was no laughing matter as Burgos was recalled to take the place of right-hander Archie Bradley, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list after being struck in the face by a line drive Tuesday night.
This is the first call to the big leagues for Burgos after he spent seven-plus years in the Minors.
