Trying to solve the Diamondbacks’ woes is like playing the Hot Stove League’s version of Clue. You can’t blame Professor Plum with a candlestick in the study, but how about Shelby Miller with poor location on the pitching mound, or Tony La Russa with questionable decision-making in the executive offices?
This is not going to sit well with many of you, but here is truth: This is not the time for knee-jerk reactions.
Don’t fire the manager.
Don’t clean out the front office.
Don’t give up on top-tier talent.
The Diamondbacks went all in with bold moves and big contracts and although some of these decisions will surely bite them on the backside, it makes no sense to overreact.
