Like most aspects of the Diamondbacks’ season, the development of their young starting pitching has been something of a mixed bag, with some prospects taking steps forward, others going backward, and some, such as right-hander Archie Bradley, doing a little of both.
Things haven’t gone as well as hoped – no apparent top-of-the-rotation type emerged – but there were some unexpected success stories along the way.
