They have a new general manager and a new methodology. They have finally embraced the information revolution that’s been sweeping Major League Baseball for years. They might need some garbage trucks to clean up the mess that’s been left behind.
“We’re going to try and grow together as an organization,” new GM Mike Hazen said. “Now it’s on us.”
At the very least, the 2017 Diamondbacks are blessed with low expectations. They will not snap their current streak of five consecutive seasons without a playoff berth.
