The Diamondbacks opted to stick with three catchers and will carry just one left-handed reliever on their Opening Day roster, decisions that came down on the team’s final day of workouts at Salt River Fields on Sunday.
In a flurry of moves on Sunday, the Diamondbacks optioned lefty Robby Scott, reassigned left-hander Marc Rzepczynski to minor league camp and returned Rule 5 right-hander Nick Green to the New York Yankees.
That left right-handers Yoan Lopez, Matt Koch and Matt Andriese for the final three spots in the bullpen, where they will join closer Greg Holland and setup men Archie Bradley, Yoshihisa Hirano and Andrew Chafin.
