In much of Arizona, fall is a lot like spring. The weather flirts with perfection. Flowers, vegetables and grass are planted. And baseball complexes are packed with fans eager to see the game’s next stars.
OK, that last sentence is not true.
Professional baseball is played here in the fall, but the Arizona Fall League has never quite caught on with anyone other than the most religious of fans.
That’s too bad, because the fall league possesses all the charm that spring training used to before owners and others realized there was money to be made from it.
