The DIamondbacks left LA on a high note after just taking the series against the 1st place Dodgers, and looked to use that momentum as a jumping pad for the very important series against the 2nd Place Padres.
The Diamondbacks seemed to keep that energy from the previous series, as they came out with 2 quick runs thanks to Joc Pederson’s 199th career blast. The offense then went into Turtleback mode from innings 2-8, scoring 0 runs, but the 9th inning rolled around and they said “WE AIN’T DONE YET!”. The happiness and excitement that we felt from the Dbacks crazy 6 Run 9th was very short lived, as Paul Sewald blew his second straight save of the road trip.
