In a 12-5 loss, the Arizona Diamondbacks dropped the final game against the Minnesota Twins in yet another dismal pitching performance.
After optioning Anthony Banda to Reno and before Robbie Ray’s return, the team turned to T.J. McFarland to wrap up the series.
McFarland only pitched 0.1 innings; he gave up seven earned runs in doing so.
The Diamondbacks looked to Braden Shipley for long relief. Shipley pitched an additional 5.2 innings and gave up five additional runs in the process.
Jimmie Sherfy made his Diamondbacks debut in the seventh inning.
