In his second at-bat of the spring, Daulton Varsho lined a home run into the right-field pavilion in Goodyear. Three days later, he fired a strike to second base in Peoria, showing a quick transfer and an accurate throw on a stolen-base attempt. Later in the week, he laced a pair of doubles at Salt River Fields.
The Diamondbacks are less than two weeks into a schedule of games that do not count, and yet for those looking for reasons to dream on the organization’s future, the Cactus League has offered plenty of possibilities.
