SAN DIEGO – The Diamondbacks are weighing how best to honor Paul Goldschmidt in his return to Chase Field without making the famously modest slugger uncomfortable, CEO Derrick Hall said.
Goldschmidt, the longtime face of the franchise for the Diamondbacks, will be playing his first games back in Arizona this week as a member of the St. Louis Cardinals, who acquired him in a trade in December.
“We basically have a protocol for how to handle when a player comes back who’s been with us for a long time,” Hall said.
