The Arizona Diamondbacks placed infielder Asdrubal Cabrera on the 10-day injured list with a strained right hamstring Friday afternoon, and called up outfielder Nick Heath from Triple-A Reno.
Cabrera was injured in the sixth inning of Thursday night's 5-1 loss to the Miami Marlins while attempting to steal second base. He was safe, but before arriving at the bag he pulled up awkwardly and stumbled onto the base in pain.
Cabrera had to be helped off the field, and the Diamondbacks put in Daulton Varsho as a pinch runner. In the top of the seventh, they moved Pavin Smith from right field to first base and Varsho went to right field.
