The Diamondbacks announced Monday pitching coach Mike Butcher will not return for 2020, the only member of Torey Lovullo’s coaching staff who will not be back.
In announcing the moves, the Diamondbacks said they had "parted ways" with Butcher.
Butcher was the Diamondbacks’ pitching coach for four seasons starting in 2016, an era in which the club’s pitching staffs ran the gamut in performance, going from one of the worst in baseball in 2016 to one of the best in 2017.
The Diamondbacks ranked third in the National League in ERA in 2018 and fell to seventh in 2019.
