The Diamondbacks’ eighth-inning rally on Sunday had an air of inevitability to it. With the way their offense had been rolling over the past week, it seemed only a matter of time before it got going in the late innings against the San Diego Padres.
That it felt that way was both significant and, well, a little strange, a reminder of how quickly and completely things can flip in baseball in a relatively short amount of time.
