The Arizona Diamondbacks have replaced one Mike with another Mike according to Nick Piecoro at azcentral. The team has announced that Mike Butcher is the new pitching coach, succeeding Mike Harkey who was let go a day after the regular season ended. Butcher was the Los Angeles Angels pitching coach for the previous nine years.
Butcher, himself a former Major League pitcher, was 11-4 in 117 games with the Angels from 1992 through 1995. He took over for Bud Black in Los Angeles before the 2007 season when the latter was named the manager of the San Diego Padres.
