Magadan, 53, joins the D-backs after spending the previous 3 seasons (2013-15) as hitting coach with the Texas Rangers. Prior to working with the Rangers, Magadan served as hitting coach with the San Diego Padres (2003-06) and Boston Red Sox from 2007-12. "Dave Magadan brings a wealth of experience to our club, and I believe he has the knowledge to take our offense to the next level," said Hale.
