Major League Baseball became the latest professional sports league to bar reporters from the clubhouse, the game’s biggest step yet in its attempt to combat the spread of the coronavirus. The ban will go into effect on Tuesday.
A Diamondbacks official said the club was still trying to determine logistics of how its players would interact with the media, but it seemed likely players would be brought to an area immediately outside the building.
The league announced that only players and “essential personnel” would be allowed in the clubhouse. It also said it planned to play out the remainder of the spring training schedule and regular season games as scheduled.
