DENVER – A day after exiting his start with what the club called forearm tightness, Diamondbacks right-hander Luke Weaver was placed on the 10-day injured list and sent to Phoenix to undergo an MRI.

Weaver is certain to miss two starts. Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo is holding out hope it won’t be much more – and that the news from Weaver’s MRI won’t be as bad as it could be. Forearm tightness can often be a precursor to more significant arm injuries, including Tommy John surgery.
