The Arizona Diamondbacks have announced that right-hander pitcher Kevin Munson has elected to pursue free agency. Munson, who was designated for assignment in August, was taken by the D-backs in the fourth round of the 2010 Draft out of James Madison University. He bounce all over the organization, getting as high as Triple A Reno the last three seasons.
The 26-year old Munson came to Spring Training this year looking for a spot in the bullpen. However, arm soreness derailed his dream of making it to the Majors. Instead, he ended up appearing in 30 games for the Aces, pitching a total of 32 1/3 innings.
