Every bit as ugly as expected, with a losing record in May, and the team apparently seriously in danger of going into a tailspin, dropping five of their final six games, including a series loss at home to the weak Marlins, and then being swept over a World Series rematch in Texas. With injuries piling up, it seemed like the hits just kept on coming. Especially when Jordan Montgomery was on the mound, hohoho. For the rotation as a whole went 6-11 with a 5.39 ERA on the month, and it looked as if the team would once again follow up a post-season appearance with an underwhelming campaign the next year.
