Diamondbacks infielder Deven Marrero hit his first home run of the season – until he didn't.
In the fourth inning of Saturday's game against the Dodgers, Marrero blasted a ball over the left-field fence at Dodger Stadium, but a funny thing happened on his way around the bases:
He passed his teammate.
Diamondbacks catcher Alex Avila, apparently unsure if the ball would leave the park, began running back to first base. Marrero evidently passed him on the base path, so Dodgers manager Dave Roberts used a replay challenge to take a run off the board.
The Dodgers won the challenge and the award for weirdest way to take a run off the board.
