The Allen Webster era appears to have ended in Arizona, with the news the right-hander was designated for assignment. They also added three names to their 40-man roster, protecting them from the Rule 5 draft.
Allen Webster was part of the return from the Boston Red Sox, when we shipped them Wade Miley. But, unlike the other part of that deal, Rubby De La Rosa, Webster did not even show flashes of promise. Though I guess you could argue he provided a consistent level of performance, that's not good when the level in question is "suck".
