Speaking through an interpreter, Diamondbacks outfielder Yasmany Tomas answered questions on Tuesday morning. He said he was entering camp with the same mentality as he has every year. He suggested nothing much has changed.
At the time, it was not clear whether he was oblivious to the writing on the wall or if he was simply ignoring it. By the end of the day, it would be impossible to ignore. Tomas is not being counted on by the Diamondbacks this season. That much is obvious following the team’s acquisitions of Steven Souza Jr. and Jarrod Dyson this week.
