The Diamondbacks, an organization seemingly in perpetual flux, will be making another round of leadership changes after firing General Manager Dave Stewart and manager Chip Hale on Monday afternoon.
The club is said to be “still deciding” what will happen with Chief Baseball Officer Tony La Russa, who is believed to have met this morning with Managing General Partner Ken Kendrick and CEO Derrick Hall.
Stewart and Hale’s firings follow last month’s dismissal of executive De Jon Watson, moves that come in the aftermath of one of the more disappointing seasons in Diamondbacks history.
“We are very grateful to Dave and Chip, who are widely respected throughout the game of baseball,” Kendrick said in a statement.
