CHICAGO — Diamondbacks first baseman Christian Walker said his late-game success has been nice, but within the numbers he sees an area ripe for improvement.
"What it means to me is I need to do a better job with hitting starters," he said.
On Thursday afternoon in Atlanta, Walker connected for his sixth home run of the season, a two-run shot that seemed to put the game away for the Diamondbacks. It was his fourth home run this season to come in the seventh inning. He also has a home run in the eighth inning and another in the ninth.
