On the mound: RHP Braden Shipley allowed three earned runs, including a leadoff home run by Colorado's Charlie Blackmon on the second pitch of the game, in just 1 2/3 innings on Sunday. He surrendered three hits with one walk and one strikeout. “For the first time out, I was really excited and had a lot of fun even though a couple things happened,” Shipley said, “but it’s spring training and you just learn from your mistakes and go back out there the next time and work harder.” Shipley liked the way his curveball was working. It had been giving him some problems, he said, during recent bullpens.
