The Diamondbacks began the week with 13 potential arbitration cases still outstanding. They ended the day Friday with just one: right-hander Shelby Miller.
After settling with pitchers Randall Delgado and Patrick Corbin earlier in the week, the Diamondbacks came to terms with 10 others on Friday before exchanging filing numbers with Miller, the club coming in at $4.7 million and Miller at $4.9 million.
“It was a big caseload,” General Manager Mike Hazen said. “It was a lot of work, and the guys did a lot of good work.”
Hazen said front-office execs Sam Eaton, Jared Porter and Amiel Sawdaye did the bulk of the negotiating but added that “there’s a huge group of people who did a lot of the support stuff in the office.
