The Diamondbacks have locked up outfielder David Peralta to a three-year, $22 million extension, a source confirmed Friday morning, a deal that covers his final year of arbitration eligibility and what would have been his first two years of free agency.
Peralta, 32, has been one of the Diamondbacks’ most productive hitters since arriving in the big leagues in 2014.
He is coming off a season in which he hit .275/.343/.461, a down year by his standards but one that was hampered by a nagging shoulder injury that ultimately required surgery.
