Arizona Diamondbacks activate third baseman Jake Lamb for Friday's game

Prior to Friday's game against the New York Mets, the Diamondbacks activated third baseman Jake Lamb from the 10-day disabled list and optioned both first baseman Christian Walker and right-hander Braden Shipley to Triple-A Reno.

Lamb, 27, has been sidelined since suffering a left shoulder injury April 3. During his rehab in late April, he experienced right elbow tendinitis. He is expected to be available for Friday's game at Citi Field.

Before his injury, Lamb managed only 18 at-bats this season and posted a .278 batting average to go along with a .350 on-base percentage and five RBIs.
